"I'm a quick learner" is a cliche.

My job for most of my career has been to adapt software and practices to varying standards.

I show up in a new town, in a new state, and provide solutions for a wide arrange of needs and constraints.  I have to provide value very quickly as a typical visit is seldom more than a week long.

A great deal of what I do with new undocumented software is reverse-engineer patterns from behavior.  This is time consuming.  So much so that I dedicated a career to preventing others from having to work so inefficiently.  When I work with people who know what their doing, it feels like magic to me.  Adapting to clear instructions is a delight.
